BOISE, ID – SurveyVitals, Inc., the nation’s leading digital patient experience survey provider, today released its findings of an ongoing nationwide study about how the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting Americans’ lives. SurveyVitals collected and analyzed over 16,000 initial responses from patients across 1,800 healthcare practice locations in the U.S. to learn more about trending concerns related to COVID-19.
“We deployed this question set in partnership with our healthcare clients on the front lines to help educate the public about CDC recommendations while also capturing important feedback to make national benchmark data available,” said Blake Vosburgh, President of SurveyVitals. “Understanding public sentiment on COVID-19 is critical to help identify potential gaps in education and inform future outreach as we face this unprecedented global health crisis.”
A six-question addendum set about the coronavirus was provided to patients at the conclusion of a regularly administered SurveyVitals patient experience survey. Patient responses were captured using a three-pronged contact methodology: text message, email and interactive voice response call. Data was processed using SurveyVitals’ proprietary reporting platform with text comments undergoing sentiment and topical analysis.Key Takeaways from SurveyVitals’ COVID-19 ‘Patient Views’ Report

“We are excited to be able to provide an amazing combination of surveys with a phenomenal company,” said founder and president of Novaetus Lori Moshier. “SurveyVitals’s impressive digital solution integrates perfectly with what we do at Novaetus. Together we will make a greater impact on patient care.”
Moshier joins SurveyVitals as CAHPS Program Director. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge and oversees day-to-day operations of CAHPS administration and other survey projects. Novaetus employees remain in their current roles and same organizational reporting structure.
SurveyVitals will maintain its headquarters in Springtown, TX, with additional offices in Minneapolis, MN, Boise, ID and Novi, MI. SurveyVitals CEO Bob Vosburgh shares his perspective on the many reasons to consider patient opinion, beyond reimbursement, in a new article featured in the Anesthesia Business Consultants latest issue of the Communique.
Beyond CAHPS: Measuring the Patient Experience Digitally and Why It Matters By Bob Vosburgh, President, SurveyVitals
Here’s an excerpt:
“For every patient who expresses dissatisfaction or voices concern, there are nine or ten more who keep quiet. However, dissatisfied patients are often some of the most vocal. They are likely to tell at least 20 people about their experiences or go to an online review site.
Why does this matter? Aside from the potential impact on a provider’s reputation, patients who rate practitioners’ bedside manner the worst are far more likely to bring a malpractice suit…”

A SurveyVitals case study has been published in the Physicians Insurance newsletter.Patient Satisfaction Goes Digital – Revenue up, liability down
By Rob Mackenzie, MD, FACS, FACHE
Here’s an excerpt from the article:
Moving at the speed of business, electronic patient satisfaction surveys can now be sent to every patient for a fraction of the cost of paper surveys. They can provide results within 2.5 to 4.5 days with response rates as high as 50 percent of patients seen, and offer timely individual provider electronic feedback and alerts. Such survey tools offer patients a quick way to express concerns to the practice while their memories are fresh, so that timely apologies and corrective action can be made by the practice itself—not the legal system.
